Selection Process –
- Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 marks for Constable (UB) Male & Female, 40 marks for Constable (AB) Female, 60 marks for Constable (AB) Male
- Stage 2: Medical Examination – Applicants will be examined by Medical & Health Officer for mental and bodily health parameters
- Stage 3: Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height and Chest measurement (No marks, qualifying in nature)
- Stage 4: Written Test – 50 marks (100 MCQ questions, 0.5 marks each, no negative marking)
- Stage 5: Oral/Viva-Voce – 5 marks
- Academic Weightage: 5 marks (Only for Constable UB based on HS percentage)
- Biometric verification will be conducted at entry, exit and during all stages of recruitment
- Shortlisting for Written Test: 5 times the number of posts based on PET merit
- Shortlisting for Viva-Voce: 2 times the number of vacancies based on PET + Written Test merit
Total Marks Distribution
- Constable (UB) Male & Female: PET (40) + Written (50) + Viva (5) + Academic (5) = 100 marks
- Constable (AB) Male: PET (60) + Written (50) + Viva (5) = 115 marks
- Constable (AB) Female: PET (40) + Written (50) + Viva (5) = 95 marks

Medical Standards
- Applicants must be in good mental and bodily health
- Must be free from physical deformities and diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, knock-knee, flat foot
- Should not be colour blind or squint eyed
- Eye Sight: Distance vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction; Near vision should be normal
- Varicose vein shall be considered as temporary disqualification
General Information/Instructions
- Applicants must register in the application portal only once for all advertisements using single Application ID
- Multiple Application IDs using different mobile numbers will lead to cancellation of candidature
- Name must be entered exactly as per HSLC Certificate
- Valid mobile number and email address must be provided and kept active throughout recruitment process
- Documents required: Latest passport photo (max 450 KB), Signature (max 100 KB in black/blue ink), Age proof, Mark sheets, Employment Exchange Card, Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- All documents uploaded must be issued on or before 16-01-2026
- Caste Certificate must be from Competent Authority authorized by Govt. of Assam only
- Admit Card and Identity Proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License) mandatory for PET & PST
- CCTV surveillance and RFID chips will be used for Race events
- Individual statement of marks signed by applicant and conducting officer will be provided
- No TA/DA will be admissible for journey and stay during any stage of recruitment
- The number of posts may increase or decrease at any time due to administrative reasons
- Final appointment subject to satisfactory Police Verification and Medical Examination Report
- Selected candidates must undergo basic police training and serve minimum 3 years after posting
- Selected applicants will be required to work in any District or Unit anywhere in Assam
- No payment required at any stage except medical investigations in Government Hospital if required
- Anonymous complaints will not be entertained
- Incomplete, defective or invalid applications will be summarily rejected
- Candidature will be rejected for providing wrong information, fake documents, misrepresentation or impersonation at any stage
Written Test Details
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions on OMR sheet
- Each correct answer carries 0.5 marks (Total 50 marks)
- No negative marking
- Question level: Class IX and X standard
- Subjects: Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability, Assam’s History/Geography/Polity/Economy, General Awareness/GK and Current Affairs
- Languages Available: Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, English
How to Apply –
- Step 1: Register on the SLPRB portal at www.slprbassam.in with valid mobile number (Register only once for all advertisements)
- Step 2: Provide accurate information including Employment Exchange Number, Highest Qualification, Permanent District, Gender, Caste/Category, Date of Birth, and Aadhaar Number
- Step 3: After successful registration, an Application ID will be generated – keep it safe for future reference
- Step 4: Login using Application ID or Registered Mobile Number along with Date of Birth
- Step 5: Apply for the relevant Advertisement (SLPRB/REC/CONST (AB & UB)/727/2025/94)
- Step 6: Upload mandatory documents – Photograph (450 KB max), Signature (100 KB max), Age Proof, HSLC/HS Mark sheets and Certificates, Employment Exchange Card, Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Step 7: Upload additional documents if claiming reservation/quota benefits (Home Guard/VDP/SPO/FMMO/Sports/NCC certificates)
- Step 8: Select post preferences clearly (UB/AB if applying for both)
- Step 9: Fill in all personal and academic details carefully
- Step 10: Generate OTP and download the Acknowledgement Slip
- Step 11: Keep Acknowledgement Slip and Application ID safe for future reference
- Edit option available for 5 days after last date (only once, subject to SLPRB approval) for inadvertent entry corrections
- Bring all original documents with one set of self-attested photocopies on the day of PET & PST for verification
