TNSCB Eligibility Criteria –

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess ONE of the following qualifications as per 10+2+3/4 pattern:

• Graduate Degree in any Discipline from any University or Institution recognized by University Grant Commission – 2 Posts
  • Must have completed or currently be undergoing Cooperative Training
  • Must possess knowledge in Computer Application
• Bachelor of Engineering / Technology Degree in Computer Science OR Information Technology OR Electronics & Communication or equivalent recognized by AICTE from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission – 33 Posts
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission – 2 Posts
• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission – 9 Posts
• Bachelor of Engineering / Technology Degree in Civil or Electrical or equivalent recognized by AICTE from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission – 4 Posts

Cooperative Training Eligibility:

Candidates will be eligible for Cooperative Training if they have completed any of the following:

• Diploma in Cooperative Management conducted by Tamil Nadu Cooperative Union
• Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management conducted by Chennai National Cooperative Union and Madurai Cooperative Union
• Diploma in Rural Home Management (Cooperation) from Vaikundam National Cooperative Institute
• B.Com (Honours) Cooperation
• M.Com (Cooperation)
• M.A (Cooperation)
• Cooperative Studies diploma awarded by any University recognized by UGC
• B.A (Cooperation)
• M.Com (Cooperation)

Note: Candidates who have not completed the above-mentioned courses but have studied Book Keeping, Banking, Cooperation, and Auditing subjects can be considered eligible for Cooperative Training.

Important: Ex-Servicemen who have served in Indian Army without any break and possess any Bachelor’s Degree will be considered eligible for posts requiring “Any Bachelor’s Degree” qualification but NOT for posts requiring B.E/B.Tech in CS/IT/ECE, Law, Commerce, or Civil/Electrical Engineering.

TNSCB Salary/Stipend –

• Pay Scale: Rs. 32,020 – 96,210 per month
• The salary will be as per the Government of Tamil Nadu pay structure
• Additional allowances and benefits as applicable will be provided as per government norms

TNSCB Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025) –

For Other Communities (SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), BCM categories):

• Minimum Age: 18 years (cannot be reduced)
• Maximum Age: 32 years (cannot be reduced)
• Age Relaxation:
  • PWBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 42 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 50 years
  • Destitute Widows: No upper age limit

For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs married to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs:

• Minimum Age: 18 years (cannot be reduced)
• Maximum Age: No upper age limit
• Age Relaxation:
  • PWBD: No upper age limit
  • Ex-Servicemen: No upper age limit
  • Destitute Widows: No upper age limit

Note: As per GO (Ms) No. 3(j) of Tamil Nadu Government Employees (Conditions of Service) Act 2016, the above age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is applicable only for those who have already been selected for any category or post or job.

Important: “No upper age limit” means that on 01.07.2025 or on the date of notification or on the date of appointment, the candidate should not have completed 60 years of age.

Application Fee –

• The application fee and examination fee must be paid online only through Internet Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI while submitting the online application
• Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances
• If the application fee is not paid within the stipulated time period along with online application, the application will be rejected

Selection Process –

• The selection will be based on a two-stage examination process: Written Examination and Personal Interview
• Written Examination:
  • OMR-based written test
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Degree Level Question Papers: 170 marks
  • Personal Interview: 30 marks
• The written examination will be conducted only in Chennai
• Questions will be in both Tamil and English languages
• The examination will cover:

  • Cooperative Credit and Banking
  • Cooperative Accounting
  • MIS and Computer Application/Computer Fundamentals
  • General Knowledge
  • Mental Ability

• Candidates will be shortlisted for personal interview based on their performance in the written examination
• The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks of written examination and personal interview
• In case of tie, the older candidate will be given preference
• If age is also same, the candidate who applied earlier to the SRB will be given preference

• State Recruitment Bureau, Chennai is conducting direct recruitment examination for filling up 50 Assistant posts in Tamil Nadu State Cooperative Union with headquarters at Chennai
• The number of vacancies mentioned is inclusive of backlog vacancies and may increase or decrease
