Eligibility Criteria –
- Scientific Officer:
- First class Master’s degree in Forensic Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT) qualified
- Scientific Assistant:
- Bachelors/ Master’s degree in Forensic Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT) qualified
- Driver:
- Must be a resident of West Bengal and Class VIII pass from a recognized school
- Must possess a valid Driving License (DL) at least 02 (two) years as on 01.01.2025 for Light Motor Vehicles (LMV).
- At least 02 (two) years of experience driving in any Govt. Organization/ Quasi Govt. Organization/ registered Pvt. Ltd. Co. etc.
Salary/Stipend –
- Scientific Officer: Rs. 35,800/- per month, P-Tax & IT will be deducted as per Govt. norms.
- Scientific Assistant: Rs. 28,900/- per month, P-Tax & IT will be deducted as per Govt. norms.
- Driver: Rs. 16,000/- per month, P-Tax & IT will be deducted as per Govt. norms.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025) –
- Upper Age Limit: Not more than 40 years

General Information/Instructions –
- Separate applications are to be submitted for the post of Scientific Officer, Scientific Assistant and Driver.
- Application should be addressed to the Administrator, State Forensic Science Laboratory, West Bengal, 37/1/2, Belgachia Road, Kolkata- 700037
- Duly filled in application within the envelope having superscripted with “Application for the post of Scientific Officer” or “Application for the post of Scientific Assistant” or “Application for the post of Driver” should be reached by post or dropped in the box placed in the reception hall of SFSL.
- Applications received after the last date and time will not be entertained.
- The authority reserves the right to screen the applications and change the mode of selection process depending on the number of applications.
- Exact date, time and venue for examination will be notified in the official website.
- No TA/DA will be paid to the Candidates for attending the test/ interview.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence will be treated as disqualification.
- Local candidate will be given preference for selection to the concerned district of Mobile Forensic Units (MFUs).
- The candidate should be willing to work in HQ Lab or any regional lab or the mobile forensic units in the districts as required.
